When I backpacked through England, Scotland, and Wales last year, it was not my intention to connect with my heritage. However, that’s exactly what happened. The moment I stepped foot on Scottish soil I fell in love. In love with the people, the culture, the language, the history, the beauty of the land… everything. But the strangest thing was that I felt overwhelmed with pride for sharing in the Scottish bloodline, no matter how diluted. :) So as I’m preparing for my next adventure, a month in Ireland, I again find myself heading to the land of my ancestors. I’m bursting with excitement at the thought of possibly walking the same streets as my great-grandfather. Now I have it in my head that I need to visit all the lands of my ancestors. So what should it be next? Italy, Australia, Isle of Mann, Germany, or Norway? Oh, and of course Africa. After all, we all came from Africa in the begginning. I’m leaning toward Australia. :)
