Do 43 random acts of kindness in 2008.

Well…..I have been doing the acts of kindness, but I haven’t been tracking them very well so I know I’ve forgotten about some of them. Here are a few of the ones I remember that occurred within the past two months though.
1)Stayed late at work to finish a project my supervisor didn’t have time to complete before she had to leave for an appointment.
2)Rescued (and ended up adopting)a puppy from an abusive home
3)Helped stop a run-away car on the highway heading to work one morning. (The driver was having an allergic reaction to some meds as she tried to drive during morning rush hour and she kept blacking out causing her foot to compress the gas peddal and weave through the 3 lanes of traffic. After watching her nearly miss 2 semi’s my husband pulled our car between hers and the other traffic and chased her down while I called 9-1-1. She finally ran off of an exit ramp into traffic and stopped after we passed through about 5 towns. That was by far the most memorable deed we did(and may ever do)...and the most adrenaline filled one. LOL.)
4)Gave a living room set to a family of 5 that had no furniture
5)Gave away our old pickup truck to a man who needed one.(He came over to pick up two old lawnmowers we were giving away and after my husband talked to him and realized he needed a truck my husband decided we should give our old one away instead of selling it…so we did….)
6)Met a family who needed help clearing furniture out of a home that was going to be torn down, so we brought our truck and a family we knew that didn’t have much to the house and they ended up taking almost everything.
Those are the only ones I can remember right now….I won’t promise I’ll be quicker about posting as they happen…because I know I’ve gotten bad about that, but I’ll try. This is cool though, It’s like an adventure to see who we can help next! I love it!!!

I envision “random” as being for strangers that don’t know us…..but last night I had an unexpected and random opportunity to do something for a friend. Went to her house, which is on a very busy street and as she was pulling into the driveway right before we did I suddenly heard her dogs barking (a herd of little chihuahuas…literally) and when I looked up I saw that her front door had come open somehow and they were running out of the house and into the street to greet us with no regard for traffic. Thankfully my husband was driving so I was able to leap out of the car as he and our friend parked, round them all up and get them back into the house without any fatalities in the road. That was kind of cool….especially since I had planned on staying home last night..made me glad I had gone along for the ride.

Thanks for inviting me Denhi…..I don’t get to visit 43 much these days…but I miss participating in these goals with all of you so I look forward to this! :)
