My characters want to take a break. 17 months ago

Well, around May or April, I can’t remember, I was writing my novel when I came to a place where the story would not advance. Deciding that I did not want to struggle, I left it and came back to it in June. I wrote for two weeks straight and my 20 pages are now 90. My characters, however, want to take a rest so now I don’t know where to go.
Hopefully I’ll get out of this.
