continue to support my soldier.

I got an email from my soldier today! I couldn’t have been more excited – I actually couldn’t open the email right away because I physically jumped up from my desk chair and danced around for a few seconds. This is actually his first message to me, and it sounds like he’s been really appreciating the support (which made me smile till my face hurt).

I’m working on my next package – music and cookies. I have an old CD player with an AC adapter, so I’m sending that along with a few mix CDs I’ve made (spanning several genres), plus some homemade cookies and a box of the Girl Scout variety. This good mood has lasted me all day – it’ll probably carry me through tomorrow as well.

So I adopted a second soldier from SoldiersAngels.com, which is a fantastic project that I highly recommend, by the by. Anyway, I really love doing this; it gives my life a dash of perspective, and the karma can’t hurt either. So I write letters once or twice a week, and send a care package once or twice a month. Anyway, I just sent out my first letter to my second soldier, along with a small package for my first soldier today. I’m working on a larger package, but I went grocery shopping today and picked up a few things for him. I think the post office lady was disappointed in my boxing skills – she practically shellacked the thing in tape. I swear that package is like a mummy – I hope Victor has his pocket knife handy when he gets it at mail call.
