I can´t think of a better quote to see just after noting that Joyjoei is my inspiration. ;D cheers, J !!!

I'm somewhat proud of myself today. 2 weeks ago

When events and my own disorganization conspired to usurp my gym time today, instead I climbed up and down the house stairs (inside) for half an hour. Not only did this provide endless amusement to my mate who was sitting on his duff near the foot of the stairs doing stuff on his laptop & offering advice, “Try duck-walking two at a time!” it succeeded in winding me and making me break a sweat in no time, which I’ve so far been unable to do during home workouts (especially now that I have no VCR to play my Ana Caban pilates video).

It had often occurred to me to do this but I never had out of dread that I would feel silly doing it. Not only did I NOT feel silly, I felt great! peppy even! Even the mirror the mother-in-law recently hung on the landing did not daunt me in spite of the comical picture I presented in my capri length workout pants and hiking boots (hey, it’s laundry day….no sneaker socks left).

I even did a few situps in between. Which almost made up for how it almost killed me the other day when I did a pushup. Uh…yeah. One.

Well it’s a start! a start I’ve made many times before, but hey. Um….that’s it. Just, “hey.”

did only 20 minutes 2 weeks ago

on the elliptical trainer yesterday & I was so tired !!

:P being sick is such a drag…I read that you shouldn’t exercise if your illness is below the neck, hahaha…in other words it’s ok to work out if you only have a head cold. My lungs have been congested since just before Thanksgiving and I’m SO SICK OF BEING SICK !! I feel tired & like I can’t catch my breath if I exert myself, like an old lady, hahaha :PPPPP .

At least I went to the gym, though. It didn’t hurt me, it made me feel better. I wasn’t coughing so I sat in the sauna a while, too, until some idiot started talking on her cell phone in there…soon she was the only person left in the sauna…hm, good strategy, MORON.

Today it’s no longer raining frogs and elephants so I will try to walk on the beach in the sun. It’s pretty cold but nice and sunny with only a few clouds !

Swam for an hour today. Man…I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo out of shape. I had to pause and catch my breath at the end of each lap. My knee eventually started hurting. Then my other knee joined in. I didn’t catch my second wind until about 25 minutes into it and I was out of breath when I staggered up out of the pool to go flop in the sauna.

Hehe good thing it was kind of chilly outside of the pool or I would probably have quit early! as it is, my wimpiness towards being cold conquered my exercise wimpiness AND my thirstiness. I wouldn’t even get out to get some water! I’m thinking I might bring my bath robe next time!!!

It’s a really nice change from the pool at my old gym (same company}. What a difference location makes. And this one is newer and cleaner, but best of all, the west-facing wall is all windows, so I got to swim in the glow of sundown. Niiiiiiiice.

was too tired again to ride bikes with me, but he agreed to a night walk on the pier, and it was just delightful & not even too cold.

Time to go back and visit T at the French cafe again.

We have repostponed the bike ride to next Saturday & I´m really looking forward to it. Also looking forward to just doing this by myself.

Also did some weights & hopping around like a dervish more or less to music. That was fun. hehe

I did 3 hourlong walks this week with assorted random unpacking and mother-in-law-evasive maneuvers thrown in….

hmm….

running would be better. Or biking. Or yoga. Or walking EVERY day.

Hmm…just as soon as I finish the unpacking (which NO ONE is helping me with…on the other hand it´s mostly my stuff…) and get a job so I can escape from this madhouse.

hehehe there´s no better kick in the ass than the one that comes from your mother-in-law (who isn´t even REALLY your mother-in-law since yer fiance is in no hurry to actually tie that knot) reminding you that it´s HER house and she´ll use the washer and dryer 24/7 for ten days straight if she feels like it AND shrink all your clothes if she gets her hands on them, too…......hehehe

argh

well I have been 2 months ago

laughing my ass off a lot…does that count as exercise??

beach walk about 30 min

It was high tide with a shore breeze and the waves were high enough you could see the light from the setting sun through them as they curved over and crashed…looked like green bottle glass. The force of their crashing sent them so far up the beach that the hissing sound of the water retreating back from shore seemed to last twice as long as usual, as if the sea had something to say quite emphatically.

Best I can say about today is that while lazing with Mr. R and watching episodes of Weeds on Netflix I did some stretches, situps and bureau pushups, which served to remind me what an utter weakling I have become.

best Charlie Brown voice: aaaaaauuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!

long ago, in a galaxy far away, I had nice, toned arms….

Scrambling around Sunset Cliffs.

Okay, so this hardly counts. Today was a non-exercise day. And I have the embarrassing photo to prove it!

So yeah, I wasn´t going to post this, until I thought, What better way to motivate myself to get into the gym than to post a picture that reveals exactly how much I need to get into the gym?

And also, I just wanted to post some more Sunset Cliffs photos. ; )
