I had to buy eleven more books, despite the fact that my unread books stack fills an entire shelf in a large bookcase. My only excuse is that I am taking a class and need the books for this reason, plus I will be reimbursed by my employer. But really? I have no real guilt over this and plan to buy a bunch of used books when I visit Green Apple bookstore in a few weeks. Forgive Father, for I have sinned.

After two years of waiting to finish a home improvement, I finally have my office and have spent hours digging my books out of our library room, to organize and shelve them into their new home. Nothing was wrong with storing my books with my husband’s, but his sci-fi and fantasy collection overwhelms mine and it’s hard to find things in all those shelves. Plus, we just don’t have enough space to contain both our collections, so he ended up with the lion’s share of shelves and I ended up throwing mine into boxes.
But on topic to this goal, I have one entire shelf reserved for unread books, and it is eye-level with my reading chair. Impossible to avoid!
Just finished Al Franken’s newest, the 2005 Non-Required Reading, and also Dan Chaon’s You Remind Me of Me, but got $200 in Barnes and Noble gift certificates for Christmas.
My stack of To Be Read books is so tall right now that it would be better to measure it in feet than in volumes. Before I made this goal, I did buy three new books, because they were $3.99 and I wanted them anyway, but man. Seriously.
