I’m a bit “slow” when it comes to languages. I was tested for a learning disability and exempted from the language department at my college, which was a relief, but I also swore to myself that I’d learn a language later (when it couldn’t sink my GPA).
Well, now it’s “later,” and I’m in a long-term relationship a guy who’s fluent in French. It sounds like French might be the way to go, especially since a trip to France isn’t out of the question. :)
Also, one of my life goals is to work for Doctors Without Borders.
From the website:
DO YOU SPEAK FRENCH?
Doctors Without Borders is in urgent need of field staff to provide assistance for MSF programs in French-speaking countries such as Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast and Haiti. Prospective volunteers for these countries need to be able to hold a conversation comfortably in French.
That about settles it.
