Slovakia + Austria — 1 year ago
Well, Australia didn’t work out (not enough hols), Morocco didn’t work out (they cancelled all the flights for the month of October!!!), so we went to Slovalia + Austria instead.
Had been to Austria b4, a week skiing in a village called Söll.
This time, it was Vienna + Salzburg, so much more history, music & culture! + a village called Hallstatt, on a hill by a lake. It was sooo pretty (lots of flowers + the streets are all stairs) + it has a neolithic salt mine that we visited… quite eerie!
Slovakia was great too. Unfortunately we only had 2 days in Bratislava… the contrast between crumbling gloomy ex-communist buildings, pastel colored 18th century palaces and designer shops in the city centre is quite amazing!!! I’d definitely love to go back and explore a bit more…
