It was ok for a while after we got back from hols (I guess all that walking around was good for toning my back a bit, so essentially I was even less fit than I thought!), but now I somehow got a vertebrae in my neck out of place and it’s quite painful… and constant, which is quite annoying and tends to make me kinda cranky…
As luck would have it my chiropractor injured himself (irony eh!) and can’t treat any patients for the coming few days…
So I made an appointment with another one but it’s not til Thursday :-( I hope he’s good anyway, I really have enough of the pain!

and it really makes a difference… my neck is much less sore and tense with it… another step in the right direction:-)
My back is fairly stable now, but the (bigger) neck problem my bad posture was compensating for is not compensated for anymore, so now my neck hurts like hell!
Well, not all the time thankfully, but it certainly does after a day sitting in front of the computer…
Hopefully working on the posture + pilates + chiro will eventually realign my spine… in the meantime there’s always muscle rub and paracetamol:-(
one that’s actually good for my spine…
+ started Pilates again
+ still going to the chiropractor every 2nd week
There is progress, but it’s slow and sometimes painful…
Can’t wait to have this 100% fixed!
Sleeping on it feels much better… I think that’s gonna help quite a bit.
Even though I got a new chait etc. at work, my back still hurts after sitting on it for a while… Not really sure what type of chair I need to have, since the one I have now is supposed to be reasonnably good, according to my chiropractor + the ergonomics consultants… either they’re all not very good, or I can’t adjust the chair properly and find the correct posture on it… I’ve tried a few different adjustments and postures though, so not sure what to do now?
The chiropractor sessions are going well, but my ergonomics at work are out the window. So that needs to be fixed too!
Had my first session (the guy realigned some of my upper-vertebrae that were a bit messed up). It definitely feels better well, less bad:)
Then went for X-rays a few days ago to see how bad my neck was. I’m bringing the X-rays to the chiropractor tonight. From looking at then it seems my spine is leaning towards the right in the neck area… we’ll see if I’m right:-)
Also, I’m gonna check with him which way I need to put my chair/computer/desk, cos I know it’s not great at the moment!
There was a chiropractor’s practice stand at the Women World’s show last week-end, and they offered free spine analysis (they had a fancier name but I can’t remember it). Anyway, it turns out that my back is as bad as I suspected it was + I have a neck problem too (which I was unaware of but apparently that’s what causing all the mad shoulder tension + a few headaches).
So I booked an appointment for Friday to get a more in-depth consultation, and I’m gonna get my back fixed! (Your man was saying it’d take a few sessions but it’s definitely fixable).
It seems like a serious enough practice anyway, recognized by the VHI and what-not… So hopefully they won’t do any damage while trying to fix me! I’m kinda apprehending the pain though:-(
My Pilates instructor gave me a massage therapist’s card… I was gonna ring today but I left the card at home.
A proper massage should definitely be good: I’ve got a trapped tendon near my spine and the tension and the pain get quite tiring sometimes…
It’s not overly severe, but it’s constantly feeling tight and quite often sore so I’m kinda sick of it at that stage… + I’m too young for back problems:-(
