Not as bad as I expected 2 years ago

My friend Steve bailed on me, leaving me to watch “Gone with the Wind” all my my lonesome. To make matters worse, my roommate was hosting a Christmas dinner in the next room! I had to turn up the volume to hear over her guests, and I knitted a scarf to help me stay awake… but the movie wasn’t half bad. The plot has been repeated a million times in modern cinema/TV. If the movie were shorter, I wouldn’t mind watching it again.

What was I thinking? 2 years ago

I checked out the DVD from Blockbuster this afternoon. When I saw the length (233 minutes), I almost chickened out and rented “The Color Purple” (another classic I haven’t seen) instead. But I called my best friend from the Drama aisle, and she talked me into keeping “Gone with the Wind.” I’m divin’ in!

Later today I was at the library, and it dawned on me that I probably could’ve saved $4.60 by checking it out there instead.
