I heard about this site: www.pray-as-you-go.org. It reminds me of the whole “pray without ceasing” thing. Who knew you could put Jesus on your iPod?

Doing better

I’m finding little pockets of silence throughout my day and using them to pray. For instance, yesterday I sat through a boring meeting. Since my mind was wandering anyway, I decided to focus on something productive. So I said in my head, “Hey God, what’s up?”

Also, I’ve been turning off the car radio occasionally. I just imagine God sitting in the passenger seat and saying, “Why won’t you talk to me?” So sometimes I do. It’s a start.

Doing better

Last night I lashed out at my roommate. Consequently, I felt guilty and prayed about it. Of course God was like, “You need to apologize to her.” I HATE apologizing.

But I did it. And then I prayed some more. I like to use my journal to talk to God (helps focus me), so this morning I wrote in my journal.

Granted, this took the place of “training for a marathon,” but still. It’s a start.

So tough

I normally pray in the morning, before meals, and before bed. But in my frantic attempt to accomplish everything on this list, the following has occurred:

1. I stay up too late. (So much for getting more sleep.)
2. As a result, I sleep later in the mornings. I haven’t made time to go running lately, and I often pray while I run. (So much for running marathons.)

I have to work on listening to God, not just rambling off my wish list. This morning I sat on the couch for 15 minutes and said, “Okay, God. I’m listening.” I think my appointments with God should be longer than 15 minutes, but it’s a start.
