and just as soon as I’m able to breathe without the involuntary gasping cough, it’s back to this goal.
I miss running.

ran 1.2km and walked 6km on both days.
NOT following the ipod, I know the distance and I’m back on track with persistence (thanks Mandarina for the prompt).
I plan to add 400m of running each time I do this, PLUS the walk which I need for my head space.
think I may need to buy new shoes….
and have lost the momentum too. Back I go to less strenuous runs…...
Today: Brisk walk to = 1.0km
run = 1.2km
brisk walk = .4km
run = 1.2km
brisk walk = .4km
run = .8km
Brisk walk home=1.0km
I would rather run the distance than follow the ipod and the timing, because I run slower(and so less the distance) and I want to be able to say truthfully, that yes, I can indeed run 5km (not counting the warm up walking)
Besides, like Arsene, I find the music somewhat distracting.
Today’s run was good, but I felt the smoke in my lungs.
The sun is a huge red ball.
Total 6.0kmHaven’t run properly to program for a while, the heat has been just too overwhelming lately.
Had a run yesterday in the cool of the evening at “normal” summer temperature.
But I feel out of sync with the program so am staying here until I do it properly, a bit like Sylivie, extending it somewhat.
Am out of sync with the routine, but ipod is still not working (have to give it to my teenager to fix, I think)
So this run was in distance not times.
An early morning run, with forecast of 39C later.
Day 3 will certainly challenge me!
Ipod packed up halfway, so I packed it away and did MY thang.
Nice day, too, the breeze was welcoming.
Managed this run well but the heat still gets to me.
Wish that I could run late in the cool of the evenings, but it’s not really safe to do that alone.
Just have to get up earlier I suppose (groan).
Did the proper program of week 3 day3, which was easier than my version.
The music is quite distracting so I’ll turn it down as low as I can next time, just loud enough to hear the prompts.
I quite like listening to my body.
No aches, shins are fine.
A good light workout.
at 7.45 this morning.
Did my version of the interval method. I found running in the heat grueling.
Am challenged by the heat, my mind/body protests in many ways, even when I don’t make it run/walk 5km.
So today was a battle with my mind, cajoling, scolding, praising.
I’m now sitting in front of the fan with a wet towel wrapped around me.
Blissful reward.
P.S. Thighs are firming up nicely. Another reward.
