keep in contact with old friends

Thank you, Facebook. ‘Nuff said.

This is really helping out with my goal. I’ve heard from people from high school and college that I haven’t spoke to in years, including the girl I had a massive crush on through most of ninth and tenth grade. And she’s still pretty—imagine that!

My best friend from high school was in town yesterday, and called me to catch up. He was unaware that we’d had a baby and was happy to meet the kid. He and his wife are now expecting, and I think watching the two of us chase the kid around the house gave him a pretty good idea of what he’s going to be up against!

But, it was good to see him again after two years, and I think we’re going to stay in closer contact now since obviously I want to hear about when their kid is born!

I actually ran into an old friend tonight in a restaurant. I hadn’t seen her in at least four years. But the funny thing is, we still managed to pick up right where we left off. I’m looking forward to her meeting my wife and the baby, and I also realized that four years was far too long . . .

This has been easy thus far—found an old college friend and an old high school friend on myspace (ah, the joys of trashy Internet sites!). I just found out last week that one of the last people Maurice Clarett tried to contact before being stopped by the police was an old friend of mine from elementary school, so he’s next.
