I accidentally received a text message on my cell phone last night from what I am presuming was a teenage girl asking someone for a favor.
In the text of the message, not only was it rife with “netspeak” (i.e. “ur 2 gud 2 b 4 rl”), but even the full words she used were mis-spelled!
I wanted to fire back a text to her explaining exactly what was wrong with everything she had said, but alas, that would have been several very lengthy messages to send and I incur additional charges on my cell phone for texts since I never use that feature.
Is it too difficult, with what everything cell phones do these days, to add a “spell and grammar check” function? Not that many teens would use it, but at least it would be there.
Of course, don’t even get me started on what I think is wrong with texting as a general form of conversation . . .
