In all seriousness, I would love to do this for at least for a few days—I’d say an entire week but I don’t know if I could last that long.
I would love to live, reflect, contemplate, and meditate. Just let the world float away and reach something similar to a higher plane of consciousness. I’d love just to “float” in the world for a bit, and if I were to spend a few days/one week or so in the life of a Buddhist Monk, I could do this.
Of course, as much as I would love to do this, I don’t think I could keep it up on a permanent basis. I have too many responsibilities and am tied down to my material possessions. But, to get to “float” for a few days, and perhaps get to do this on a semi-regular basis (every few years or so) might help renew my perspectives a bit.
I really don’t mean to knock the orange robes—the robes themselves are simplicity and to me, that’s what it would be all about.
And, if I were to live like a Monk, I would more than likely have to shave my head, or have it shaved in a ritual—ties into another part of my list, which is always good . . .
