Perhaps I should say reminded me of instead. I know I can’t be the only one who has been taught totally through the Holy Spirit. My family did attend the UU Church. But we weren’t raised to memorize bible verses, nor to partake in any bread & wine ceremony.
I was raised an atheist, my father was a Aerospace Engineer and my mother was a Science Teacher. Anything that wasn’t scientifically proven was unreal. At twelve I began reading the bible so I could be well armed when confronted by “christians”. I attended “The Good News Club” and a Baptist Vacation Bible School.
As a kid I greatly enjoyed attending these events, playing their games, but never believing the far out stories. To test their truths, I went in a little cubby with the teacher so I could accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I felt no difference, no enlightenment, no spiritual stirrings. But they said I was saved!
