I’m almost finished with “George Washington, The Indipsensable Man” (except they spell that right on the book cover), and it was pretty good. It’s a condensed version of a four volume work – you can tell that the author is skimming over a good bit of information, but it’s very readable and through, dispite not being four books(!). It’s by James Thomas Flexner.
So, Adams is next. I think I’ll see if they have a biography of him at the library – I’m not sure I like him enough to pay for his biography.

I’m working on this goal – right now I’m reading Theodore Rex, about Teddy Roosevelt. I’ve already read biographies of LBJ and Andrew Jackson. I’ve noticed that it’s hard to find readable, well-written biographies of presidents. The one on Andrew Jackson was very good, but I snored through “Big Daddy from the Pedernales” (if I’m remembering the name of the LBJ biography correctly).
I was going to read the biographies in order, so that I would understand how each administration builds off of the previous administration. But I can’t find a good biography of Washington. Does anyone have a suggestion?
