be a better mother

...just doing what my 4 year old wanted. We went to my mothers in the country, spent all day outside blowing bubbles, playing with the animals, and kicking a ball. Went shopping and ate at neat restaurants, slept in, and took morning baths. I feel like I am truly making her life better, which, in turn, is making me feel like a better mother. It is funny, isn’t it, how the wheel can turn? I guess you have to just decide to not let it steer you wrong.

I am taking a lesson from my daughter to listen more, be more free to play with her, and make her more of a focus in my life. For a while there, we were going through the motions of mother/daughter, but neither of us were feeling very great about it. I could tell she wasn’t feeling fulfilled, and it troubled me.

Now, I am listening, playing with her and her toys, and making better schedules. I am having a great week!
