Time heals all wounds, really. I think I believe that now.

Jordan and some of my friends surprised me on the Mall today with a birthday caaaake :) I thought I was going to see the cherry blossoms with just Jordan and Nichole. But then Angela, Anne Louise, and her roommate Sonia showed up and they had cake n stuffffs. It was fabulous! Then we went to a Mexican restaurant and had margaritas and tacos. Mmmm. It was a lovely day!

And, on my actual birthday last week, Jordan came over and surprised me with a cake that he baked himself, new slippers (which I Really needed), a tank top, and a beautiful ring from Bailey Banks & Biddle (woah) that is very unique and I love it very much.

Man, too bad birthdays only come around once a year ;)

I cut Jordan’s hair today, and it actually worked out!

It was kind of a joint effort… but his hair was crazy long (for a boy), it was all up in his eyes, and long in the back… but we fixed all that :) It’s not buzzed or really close to his head, but it’s still a big change because it was SO LONG. Sorry I don’t have a photo. But we left it SLIGHTLY longer down the middle so he can make it into one of those faux-hawks if he really wanted to ;)

He loves it; he was sick of his hair. So yes, I have never cut anyone’s hair before, but I think I actually did an okay job!

Hey, this is the internet, but I’m under an “anonymous” user name, right?! Why shouldn’t I share this slightly embarrassing but totally normal fact of life? I think you can be pretty sure that you’re with “the one” when he actually thinks your farts are cute.

(and alliteration) hahaha… WOW. That was a really dorky joke, and I’m almost ashamed to have made it. Almost. ;)

I love giving gifts that are unexpected but completely useful. I like giving people things that I know they will love. I have realized lately that I really do not mind spending lots of money to achieve that. I spent about $600 on a surprise trip to San Francisco for Jordan and I, all because he told me it was his favorite city. I spent $106 (on eBay!) on a North Face fleece for J for Christmas. My mom asked for a pewter candle snuffer for Christmas, and instead of buying one that was “good enough,” I spent about 10 extra dollars to get her one with a neat bumble bee design.

This may not seem like a big deal to some people, but let me clear some things up: I am poor. I am REALLY poor. I think this will actually be the first month that I will not be able to pay off my credit card completely at the end of the month. And that saddens me in a big way.

So anyway, these other people’s happiness is apparently more important to me than the balance on my credit card :) Oops…

everything feels lighter

I’ve been moping around the past few weeks because I’ve been feeling guilty for not being very active. I sit at work, I sit in my car, I sit at home… I haven’t been DOING anything. But this afternoon, Jordan and I went to a park across the street from my neighborhood and went exploring, kind of. Low key :) But we walked all these trails and there were some bars that we did pull-ups and flips on, and there were some signs along the paths that had different exercises on them, like jumping jacks, etc, so we did those… raced across a bridge… found a dog park and watched the doggies play for a while… it was very enjoyable :)

I feel good.

It has been about 11 months since I last got my hair cut, so I went on Saturday to get everything “cleaned up.” I got her to shorten up my bangs again, too, and I love it :)
