visit Africa

Specifically, one of the countries in West Africa where my ancestors came from. I have visited South Africa, which was fascinating, but many of my family members have visited Ghana, Senegal, and The Gambia, and I have a deep desire to visit this part of the world. A close family member is involved with a local Sister Cities project and visits Ghana several times a year on medical and educational aid projects. My idea is to obtain a grant to document one of these delegations on video, and create a multimedia record of the experience for whoever funds my trip. I’ve had this idea for several years but have never acted on it. This year I’m determined to at least start writing a grant proposal, and research some organizations that might make my dream possible.
