Have Lasik Surgery

... for the forseeable future. This kind of depended on being able to finance it. My credit rating is trashed after my year of unemployment and coming a hairsbreadth from losing my house, so it will have to wait ‘till I’ve pulled things together a bit more.

I’ve worn glasses or contacts since I was 6 years old and am now almost 45. I hate wearing glasses, but now need toric contact lenses which are quite pricey. The cost of lasik & similar procedures has come down enough that it doesn’t make sense to keep spending a few hundred bucks a year on glasses and contacts. I also worry about being in an emergency situation without my glasses or contacts- I would be damn near helpless! I planned to have this done in 2006 but ended up needing extensive dental work which had to take priority… becoming unemployed didn’t help, either! This is one thing I’m determined to do this year… I don’t think my usual procrastination tendency will interfere, it’s more a matter of finances standing in the way right now. It will be so amazingly wonderful to wake up each morning and see everything crystal clear!
