no volt yet and

I couldn’t wait for it to come out to get another car so I bought a new-used 2004 RX8 Mazda which is the first non-mommy car I have had in a billion years. She’s a beauty and boy can she move!

I think maybe I should change this goal

from alternative fuel car to electric car. I do not want to support food crops being turned into biodiesel. It seems criminal to turn food into fuel when people are dying from hunger. It has turned corn into a more expensive commodity which will have negative impacts upon the poor. Electric cars, as long as the batteries are recycled cleanly, seem a much better environmental solution with no emissions.

And speaking of biodiesel, why don’t states use their highway right of way lands to plant suitable non-food biodiesel crops? Maybe I am not calling it by the right name, you know the vacant land areas all along our highways? Make it productive land and don’t turn food crops into biodiesel.

Volt perhaps?

This won’t be able to be done for a while but I am reading up on cars that will be available. I just can’t do the 25 mph tin-can that would be squashed like a bug.

oh my gosh I have found the one!

Totally electric car. Unfortunately, for this first run the price is so out of my price range it is not even funny but I am in l-u-v with it all the same!

It is a Tesla, which they are taking orders for 2008 cars as they have sold all the ones they have available.

The Tesla is a sports car, runs on a huge lithium battery,
0-60mph in 4 seconds and gets 200+ miles per charge!

The Volt, which isn’t yet out, maybe for a couple more years is nice too, but I l-u-v the Tesla.
