Had a friend email me a picture of a cat that will be going to the shelter. Darling orange and white cat that would need a name change but adorable cat. I emailed him back and said my housemate hated cats and then got back an email saying “Really…he referred me to you.” So my biggest obstacle of sharing my life with a cat appears to have disappeared!

After dinner, my friend’s cat, Spock, jumped up in my lap and sat and purred for ages. Sweet cat. Nice time.
Walking to a local place for dinner and a lovely cat was sitting on the sidewalk. Kitty kitty kitty, gave it a pat and walked on to the restaurant. Coming home a couple hours later, on the opposite side of the street was the same cat. I pat him and walked on only to see a shadow running along side me. I look back and this cat is running after me. Go Home! I say and continue walking. Shadow appears again and the cat is still following me. Chase him back up the street. He would then run to catch up. He was a lovely cat, no collar but well fed so I didn’t want him following me but it was very cute and funny and he was such a sweetie!
My ex got the cat since he kept the house too and I miss my cat, Kit, terribly. He is an Aussie cat who adopted us in Sydney in 1994 and has stuck with us (amazingly) through 5 moves, including to the US. He is now 13 years old and I do go up and sit with him outside when I can but makes me sad to leave him there but I know it is a better place for him. Sigh.
