Get a new job

My new job is going well. My collegues are fun to be around and we are proving to be market leaders in our field. Today I wrote our largest client. 10 times our standard premium.

I am now a Commerical Underwriter!!

Well almost, I start on 29th September 2008. It is with the same company so I get to keep my benefits!!!

This goal was 8 years in the making!!!

WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

... that I should get the job and state if they decline they better have a good answer.

My boss said there was a possibility that I would find out today but no avail. She has provided them will all relevant information.

Maybe tomorrow I might be notified. It will make my working days easier as I wont be as distracted.

I will be disappointed if I don’t get it but I hate the waiting game more!!!

I had my interview today and at first thought I did quite badly. I hate the personality questions, like how did you react to a difficult client.

With my previous experience I am a shoe in but I guess I will have to wait and see.

They contacted me again this afternoon for 30 minutes to discuss the interview further. Everyone is saying that at least I have been short listed.

Results in three days!!

I have an interview tomorrow and I am extremely nervous.

It is for a commercial underwriting position located in my current office.

I hate interviews and taking about difficult situations. I am currently preparing my answers by writing examples down.

This is such a great opportunity that I don’t want to miss out because I failed to come across as an effective communicator.

May the gods be with me and I get the job!

I completed a course yesterday which my company has been putting on for staff members. It is about seeking what skills you have and if they are transferable, aligning your preferences with jobs you seek and establishing what skills you require to meet your career goals.

I also applied for job located in my building after advise from both my manager and the HR consultant. It will allow me to get experience in my preferred choice of insurance. I have most skills and hope they take me on.

.. to offer me a job with the same income. I declined because if I am going to jump into a job that offers little career prospects and no wage increase, it just isn’t worth it.

... I haven’t had a real job interview yet. Why do HR agents say they can sell you but don’t?

The one at Hays stated that I didn’t have the right skills/experience to get into Commercial Insurance. Thank the gods that she was honest!!

Maybe I need to stay where I am complete my Certificate 4 and hope the career planning day I am attending in September is fruitful.

If it is a success I might get a chance to spend a week in that department and be given an opportunity to make a great first impression!!!

On my current job front, I have instigated a pay review and put my argument in writing. It is currently bringing referred to senior management.

I hope they pay me 5K more and then I can concentrate on skilling myself up!

I had my meeting today. He put me in room 13 which is my favorite number.

The meetng went well and he is putting my resume forward for a big company.

Tomorrow they will say if they are interested.

I would love a chance to meet them and see if my interviewing skills are up to scratch.

.... I have two meetings this week which is about all I can commit to.

I am stoked that the HR agents are interested in seeing me. I hope I impress them with my personality and skill base.

I even have been given a job spec from one but I am unsure about the wage. The training they are offering might just be the incentive to apply.
