Now I don’t believe in eating pasta cold but my sister needed a hand with the food preperation for her son’s christening.
They gave me the ingredients and I put it together. I was surprised at how easy it is. Maybe potato salad could be that easy too.
I can’t believe I am almost through the year and have only gotten up to 13… When I originally set up this goal I thought it would be done before the end of the year. To reach that, I would have to make something new every day. Realisically doing that with a small baby would be quite a feat and one I don’t think I could achieve.

Ok I did buy the Vol Au Vent but then again I haven’t attempted pastry since I was a kid.
I grilled the chicken, cooked the asparagus in butter but made sure it was still crunchy. I made the white cheese sause and combined everything into the Vol Au Vent casing and put it in the oven.
For a first attempt it was amazing. The asparagus was perfectly cooked but still crunchy My tip to myself is to leave the Vol Au Vent in the oven a little longer.

This was such a yummy dish and made a change from the usual beef hot pots. I will be making this again before the Australian Winter is through.
