become a Distinguished Toastmaster

My main sponsor at my new club is leaving which is making it difficult to continue the club. The lady did a lot to keep the club going forward. We are both trying to put into place measures to keep the club going.

I had to go to the bank to sort out the membership payments of the club that I have chartered, and which I am still coaching currently.

I started with my High Performance leadership manual

I have a seperate entry to track my progress towards the HPL

I have completed my term as a District Officer. Now I only need to do a High performance leadership before I can get to being a Distinguished toastmaster.

I am looking forward to the upcoming Toastmaster’s conference. It is now almost certain that I will be the next division governor. I have much support. I read through all the reports and it seems as if the division is going to need a lot of support and effort to make it grow as a whole…Think it will become another goal for 2008/2009

I got my certifiticate today that acknowledges my Advanced Communicator achievement.

On Tuesday my mentee gave her third presentation which finalised the last requirement I had to fulfill before registering my Advanced Communicator Gold. I now need to complete my Advanced Leadership end of June 2007 when I finish my year as Area governor before I can accomplish this goal.

I played successfully the role of Chieff judge in my own club and the role of competitions chairman in another club. Both were new positions I have not done before. I rather like to be involved in all aspects of Toastmasters.

Although it will not add towards becoming a Distinguished Toastmaster I am now heavily involved in the competition cycle of Toastmasters. I am tomorrow the chief judge at my own club and Thursday I will be the competitions chair for a club in my area. I am also busy organising the area competition for my area….so all in all it seems I have much to learn still in Toastmasters.

Finally we had a successful club meeting today at my new club. I did a lot of couching to help them get comfortable in the various roles played during the meeting. We had two ice breaker presentation that went off well. Even the Table topics session was successful. I am happy with the club’s performance and hope that it has laid the foundation for growth. The club executive seems at least to be energetic and eager to make a success of the club.
