revamp my wardrobe without breaking the bank

I’ve been spending more money on clothes in the last 2-3 months, instead of exclusively on books and DVDs, and have got 2 pairs of jeans, several new tops and a new pair of boots, so now I feel that my wardrobe has been considerably ‘revamped’ since I started this goal :) I’m going to try to maintain by setting aside some money for clothes each month :)

I went shopping earlier today and got two new blouses, so I’m making a small amount of progress – I’ve not ticked it off my main list as I aim to get a few more. I’m going to be making some inroads into this soon though and I hope it won’t be too long before I can mark this as done :)

Now that I’ve been paid, I thought I’d go and treat myself. I got my hair cut and went shoe shopping. I bought the pair in the picture but I’m still deciding on whether I’ll keep them or not… They’re quite different to what I’ve worn before but that’s no bad thing :) I really wanted a pair of boots ideally, but it’s out of season and the sale pairs will have gone by now, I would imagine. Oh well… :)

I have now bought 2 skirts, which would have been 3, but I decided that breaking the bank wasn’t an option, and that I could wait until my next pay day before getting more :)

My whole wardrobe needs a complete overhaul, due to the fact that when I have any money to spare, I’d rather buy a CD/DVD/stereo etc. than splash out on a bunch of new clothes. As a result, I’m needing to put more focus on getting a better selection.

So, I think I will feel that this has been sorted once I have the following:

- 2/3 pairs of shoes/boots

- 2/3 pairs of jeans, one black and the rest blue

- 1/2 new suits (black, navy or light grey)

- half a dozen decent tops or blouses

- 2/3 jackets / cardigans / jumpers

- 2/3 sports tops and bottoms

- 2 skirts

That’s definitely plenty of clothes to get, and it’ll take me a while, but that will inject a little life into my wardrobe at least. At a later date, once I have the money to spend, I’m aiming for a variety of rock chic / biker / metalhead / gothic / Victoriana clothing, but those can wait! :)
