The classes are going well so far and I’m building on my skills. I started to get the hang of snake arms, which I consider to be the most difficult move I’ve tried so far, but the teacher said it was brilliant and that I had a good flow as my arms are quite long. Just have to start feeling the moves more, I am being rather technical about learning and practicing so the advice I got at the end of the last lesson was “think slinky”!

I managed to find a local class and lessons start next Monday! I am really looking forward to having some real instruction as I’ve only learned from DVDs so far. Can’t wait!
Bellydance is a lot more difficult than I first imagined and it’s quite technical when you start learning about the variations of movements. I’m doing best at the hip moves, and finding it a bit hard on the chest moves as it’s hard for me to isolate the specific muscles and stop the rest of my body from moving as well. Really enjoying it though and I’m going to try out a few more DVDs as there’s no classes nearby and I’d love to see different styles and find out more about the dance.
Got a DVD on the way, I’m looking forward to trying it out. Bellydancing is so sensual and intriguing I would love to give it a go.
