I tried reading Emma by Jane Austen but I am afraid I found it intolerably boring. I forced myself to read halfway through the book and then very naughtily skipped to the last 2 pages, found all that everything was just as I had expected it would be and didn’t bother going back to read the rest.
I’m having a slight break from this challenge to read Four Past Midnight by King. I’m on the first story and it is one of those tales which really grips you and you don’t want to put it down, but on the other hand you don’t want it to end!
I’ve just downloaded Ulysses so that’s next on the list.

Finished Happy Potter 2 and Bridget Jones’s Diary recently. Both better than I had expected them to be.
Part way through Wuthering Heights now.
I’ve already read some of the books on this list but the most recent one I finished is ‘Jane Eyre’. I was so surprised by this book, I was expecting it to be a bland story with nothing really happening (that’s how I felt about ‘Pride and Prejudice’ – sorry Austen fans!). The story was fascinating and I enjoyed reading it so much. Don’t want to spoil any surprises (there are quite a few!) but it really does provoke a lot of feeling for the characters. Hope you all enjoy reading this one as much as I did :)
