Ride Goliath in Six Flags

Just before the end of the year, I took went to Six Flags specifically to ride Goliath. My friends and I decided to end the day with that ride. I was insanely nervous while I was in line. When I actually got into the coaster, my friend offered her hand to hold. That was a bad move though because as the coaster began its ascent I kept gripping hard. Then came that drop I had dreaded since I was a little kid.

After the ride was over, I found my self completely underwhelmed. That ride was nothing compared to other roller coasters I’ve been on. The drop didn’t even feel that long. I can’t believe I was even afraid of that roller coaster in the first place.

I went to Fright Fest at Six Flags last weekend. Goliath was the first ride my friends and I went towards. I think they’ve all figured out that I tend to avoid the ride, so this was the first thing they all suggested we should do. Unfortunately, the line was way too long. There were a couple Halloween specific events going on that night so we decided to tackle all those events before going on the rides that will always be there. It was a fun night, got to ride Colossus backwards and went into most of the mazes. However, we weren’t able to get on Goliath.

My friends and I are planning to return there during winter break which starts during early December. I will make sure to get this goal done before the year ends.

Roller coasters are awesome. The mix of anticipation and nerves as the coaster climbs up the tracks and then the rush of adrenaline that ensues after the drop feels great. For some reason though, I have an irrational fear over the roller coaster Goliath. It really doesn’t look that bad compared to other roller coasters, but I always find ways to avoid riding it. Its the only roller coaster in Six Flags I haven’t ridden on.
