6. Dharma Bums- Kerouac
7. A Pocket Style Manual -4th edition Diana Hacker
8. Sea Change – Sylvia Earle
3. The Jungle – Upton Sinclair It was a pretty interesting read, until in the end it turned out as a plain old ploy for Socialism. I really didn’t feel as much empathy for the characters as I should have, so maybe if I did, it would have been better.
4.The Weather Makers-Tim Flannery… all I have to say is Insanely Boring..It took me a week to suffer through this books. It seems to me, that all environmentalists keep repearing the same biased facts on climate change, and Im sick of hearing them; will repeating something that’s been said 6000 times already really cause someone to change?
5. They Say, I say -Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein
This book would have been okay if it assummed that college students actually had more intelligence then the average three year old.
So i read eleven books in ‘06, and I dont think im gonna read 41 in the next few weeks, so yeah. restarting count for ‘07.
1.Silent Spring – Rachel Carson, ‘twas boring, just way too biased and repetitive. Sure, DDT was bad, but that doesn’t make this book good.
2. The Wealth of Oceans- Weber and Gradwohl Slightly more interesting then Silent Spring, which it cited a lot. I already had heard most of the environmental facts, so knowing them made it slightly boring.
11. On the road – Jack Keroauc. I didn’t really understand all of it.. but I think that may be a good thing.
10) Marine Biology – an ecological approach. Nybakken and Bertness. School textbook, and I actually read it, oh yeah.
9. Singing Whales and Flying squid : The Discovery of Marine life- RIchard Ellis One out of four sections was really interesting, the rest was boring.
8. The Sprit catches you and you fall down – Anne Fadiman. Boring Subject, but very well written
7.A Scanner Darkly- cause i cant see the movie where i live. It was overall good, but i feel like I failed to understand parts of it..
6.NOLS Wilderness Guide- boring but informative
5)Nancy Drew and the mystery of Shadow Ranch- Id never read a Nancy Drew book before, so i figured it was time. Its okay, but i dont really get what the big deal is.
4)TOo soon to say goodbye- childrens book about a kid with luekemia, didnt really like it, the ending wasnt very definate, and i cant stand that.. Its like the author just gets bored of the book, and makes up an ending so they dont have to finish
3) The house that love built..
Cuase it was short, and i couldnt/cant sleep.. It sucked, it was much too feel sorry for us/them ish..
2) Whaler Round the Horn
I bought this book at the library cause the cover was pretty, It turned out to be good, but not excellent. SO yeah, who said you cant judge a book by its cover?
1)Diary of A working Girl
- A incredibly shallow and overly predictable book, actually not about hookers.
And Im sure ive read more books, and just dont remember..
