I’m going with my family to Barcelona. I just need to escape and take emotional rest.

My colleagues called my business trip as suicidal because of the political tumult and incidents of hold-ups and kidnapping.

I only wonder if my colleagues or the news in general only exaggerate the condition there. But to see is to believe and I’m going there next month.

The security training that prepared the expats for the great day was ridiculous and caused some of us paranoia. The women for example were taught to buy tear gas and everyone of us has to memorize plate numbers and the faces of the drivers (which seems to be difficult in Africa) so we won’t get in the wrong car or just be cautious with our surroundings.

My next route is Nigeria and Namibia.
