Alas, I am obsessed, addicted, determined! Finished the Dec. 16th, Washingtonpost.com puzzle on Java applet without any help or clues. Only thing is, they have this wonderful button called “check” ;)

getting there. Had to use the thesaurus for one clue and Google to check the other answer, but I pretty much did it without any other references. Of course, it helps that I know there are 2 Pliny’s and that I recently encountered “creosote” in a Sherlock Holmes story. ;) I can do this…
Attempt number 2 isn’t coming along very well. I managed to fill out 80% of today’s puzzle without any outside help at all, but I’m dreadfully stuck at the moment. I might just cave in soon and look up the rest of the answers; I’ve found it to be the best “training” for filling out crosswords.
Woohoo, I did it! :) The crossword in today’s Express (I think it’s from the Washington Post)!
Was stuck on one letter box and 2 clues (“Chevy’s sibling” and “Type of model”; answers: “Olds” and “Cole” respectively), but I got it after some Googling. Alright, so I sort of cheated. My goal next time is to finish a crossword without help. That’ll keep me busy.
