learn german

after 10 months in Germany, i’m getting ashamed that my german is still so poor. one main reason is low efforts i’ve spend in the last months. another hidden reason is somehow the dislike. difficult to explain. however i have to admit it. obviously people around me are expecting me to speak good german after 10 months. it is becoming a burden to me now. together with other pressures i’m facing now. really not so easy. anyway it is still a task with quite high priority in my task list in the coming months, if not the only task. hope i could really improve somehow …

after working for 6 years in a German company, i finally decided to take German. actually the plan is to have a one year assignment in Germany. Considering that, it will be important and also easier for me to start it before going out. However, right after the 1st class, i find it out that i’m deep in the water of quite some other urgent topics: looking for another job, writing thesis, buying apartment, even looking for a boyfried :)) with all these targets in my list, learning Germany seems not any more in the priority. anyway, wish myself still good balance of life and work. keep on going with German.

it took me one year to finally decide to learn German. the first idea came out after my travel to germany. colleagues spoke German in meetings with non german speaking people. I felt disrespect and from then on I was planning to learn this foreign language. however as time went on, it is losing priority. Now came the plan to visit Germany for 2 months. with this plan I have no excuse to wait for long. it is interesting to learn that once you are really working on the target, it is not that difficult any more. even though the study has not yet really started, i’m getting more feeling about it now. Finally it is on the way!

It takes me more than 5 years to decide on learning German. Working in a German company, the impulse to learn Germany is more for my personal interest rather than preparing for any promotion. I still remember one Brail colleague once told me: it is not about working for this company. it is about access to many more insteresting places. So I’m planning to take German courses after summer vocation.
