In a little bit over the period of a year, today is the third time I’ve begun week 1, day 1 of C25K. Third time’s a charm, right?
The first two stints with it, I never got past week 3. My motivation just fizzled out both of those times.
Am I going to let it happen again? I hope not. Especially since every “first time” is as hard as the actual first time I went out a bit over a year ago. The body easily forgets if you don’t stick with it.
When I was out of shape and in school, I absolutely /hated/ running for gym- hated it, dreaded it, eventually found any excuse I could to get out of PE class any day that we had to run. This is exactly why I want to become a runner.
In this January weather, I’d have to be insane to try to take it up now- I’m slipping around all over the place when taking my dogs for their walks!- but I’m preparing for running in spring. Right now, I’m doing everything I can to increase my physical fitness in general, and hopefully this will help me when I take the plunge into running!
One thing I shall do soon to motivate myself is buy a nice, /expensive/ pair of running shoes.
I intend on doing the C25K program.
