give thanks

For the Macks, who continue to Bless us over the years. May they be Blessed by us and others many times over.

Today I Give Thanks for a room of my own, even if it is my own by default. It contains many precious posessions and many solitary thoughts. There is one window out and two windows in. There is warm light. It’s not a small thing and it means a great deal to me.

I am so, so Thankful that I am not a crook, that I am not a part of a family of crooks and cheats whose goal is to constantly put one over on people and gain from their misfortune under false pretenses.

I am so, so Thankful that I’ve come to terms with the ugly sides of my ethnicity and made peace with it.

For a family I love, who CAN share living spaces in peace and harmony.

For a summer filled with time and togetherness with DJ. I pray that time has value going forward towards the coming days and months that we can draw from and appreciate.

For the time, resources and opportunity to be able to go on a vacation with my husband! In three short days, we’ll be in the Dominican Republic : )

For the midnight hour and the minutes before and after.

For the first firefly of the summer glowing around my window!

That my girls have arrived safely in Panama and that my husband and I have two months of alone time as a result. I Give Thanks for new beginnings in blended families, both for the girls and for DJ and I.

For my beautiful, intelligent, creative, sensitive daughters who have accomplished so much academically this year. Both received honors at their schools in ceremonies today, and we had a celebratory dinner out to top off a wonderful day!
