At my workplace, people who are CPR certified can join a company emergency response team. If there is ever an injury or illness at work, the volunteers on the team are alerted by phone and told where to go so they can begin CPR or first aid while waiting for the ambulance.
Yeah yeah, it’ll get me more recognition at work and make me a more “valuable” employee, but the real reason is the empowerment to do something helpful in a dangerous situation and help someone. I’m such a sucker for stuff like that. <3
