Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

acidic in New Jersey is doing 14 things including…

sub list

3 cheers

acidic has written 14 entries about this goal

my life is work and nothing else.
maybe i will revive this sub list when I have the time to focus on my goals.

Sub List #12 - Month of July

I’ve been so busy working I haven’t had the time to update this. The eat/sleep/go to work/repeat 4x has pretty much been my life for the last month. Anyway….

floss daily
minimize my belongings
tone my body/increase my flexibility

Sub List #11 - Month of June

So, it’s been nearly a year since I started this whole sub list thing…

anyway, goals to focus on for this month are:

minimize my belongings
tone my body (a challenge…a perpetual challenge)
floss daily
sew more
increase my flexibility

and maybe even throw in “have a daily routine.” Because if I did that, it could involve all of the goals above.

Sub List #10 - Month of May

graduate college (this is a resolution)

minimize my belongings
be more mindful of what I eat
tone my body
sew more

I am very optimistic for the end of the month, once the resolution is complete, as I will have no school and no job…that being said, I should probably throw on to the list:

actually do the things on my list

Sub List # 9 - Month of April

Nothing is getting done.

-begin my assignments right away and not procrastinate and save them for the last minute

-minimize my belongings

-tone my body

Sub List #8 - Month of March

I worked on some goals, but did not succeed in completing them.

-begin my assignments right away and not procrastinate and save them for the last minute
-be more mindful of what I eat
-tone my body
-floss daily
-minimize my belongings
-sew more

I have a feeling I can get some goals done this month. Come on, March!

Sub List #7 - Month of February

Arg…I feel like I never get anything done.

begin my assignments right away and not procrastinate and save them for the last minute – this is important. need to stick with this

floss daily – this isn’t HARD. I need to stop being lazy or falling asleep before I get a chance to do this at night

tone my body – I have gained at least ten pounds (no exaggeration) over the past few months. clothes don’t fit and I feel like CRAP

have a daily routine – it would be NICE if I could get into this…then maybe all my other goals could fall neatly into my routine

set aside a block of time each month to work on my sewing – this would be nice…many projects sitting, waiting to be finished

Only 28 days to try and get these things DONE…or else they don’t get checked off :(

Sub List #6 - Month of January

New Year New Decade, etc.

My goal focus for the month of January are as follows…

-Floss Daily (starting today!)
-tone my body/increase my flexibility (new years res: have the best body ever)
-minimize my belongings (this has been quite the process, but I have not forgotten about this goal!)
-reorganize my wardrobe

I am really going to dedicate my time to working on these goals. I am hoping if I get in the habit of doing things daily, these goals will ultimately become routine.

Sub List # 5 - Month of December

As school has been occupying most of my time, I haven’t really been able to give a lot of attention to my goals. But hopefully I will be able to focus on the following during the latter portion of December, when I am no longer tied up:

-minimize my belongings
-floss daily
-reorganize my wardrobe; find a style in the process thereof
-read more classic literature
-sew more/learn to embroider

I should add, that I did check off a goal from last month…save more money was going very well, so I felt ready to scratch that off the list!

Sub List #4 - Month of November

Well…I didn’t get any closer to accomplishing anything in October…

-begin my assignments right away and not procrastinate and save them for the last minute (because this would make things a LOT easier)
-minimize my belongings (on-going challenge)
-save more money (on-going, and going well as of now)
-tone my body (I work on it, then I don’t. Then I do. I need consistency!)
-floss daily (I was doing SO well, then I missed a few days and got lazy…)
-reorganize my wardrobe; find a style in the process thereof (at least get the first part completed…?)
-increase my flexibility
-set aside a block of time each month to work on my sewing / sew more / learn to embroider (these can all kinda get lumped together)
-read more classic literature
-have a daily routine (Because if I had one, it would involve a work out to help with toning my body and increasing flexibility, and flossing once a day would happen, too, and then I’d even have a set time to do my assignments and thus help reduce procrastination…but this just doesn’t seem to happen, as my schedule for each day differs…)

ten is a lot…but let’s see if I actually get any of them done…

acidic has gotten 3 cheers on this goal.
