I got invited to callbacks!

Well, I auditioned for my first musical last night, for Four Seasons Theatre at the Humanities building on the UW campus. I sang the theme from New York, New York, a song originally sung by old blue eyes, himself. I forgot half the words, but they called me back for the Tenor part! Yay! I guess God was showing me it was really Him and not me that was doing it. I found out the auditioners and I had a lot of connections – they knew about Bethel (because the Paulsons go there, and they’re often a part of Four Seasons Theatre shows), and East High & Ms. Beilke. They knew Thaddeus McCants and Ben Altschul and a bunch of others from show choir; Thaddeus actually played a part in a FST show about a year ago. Pretty awesome. Then I found out that the mom of my old dance partner from show choir, Frieda, was at the table registering auditionees! I got to reintroduce myself and she was so excited. I guess Frieda’s studying dance in Milwaukee and recently got to perform in a production because a dance lead got sick. I even saw a guy I know from Mt. Zion audition right before me. All kinds of connections. It’s so awesome how the Lord lets you know you’re on the right track, and grants you favor in all kinds of situations. It was so totally Him last night. I remember praying on the way in, “Lord, if it’s your will for me to be in this musical, I trust you to provide a way & make it happen.” – prayer is so important! Anyways, I’ve got to study the song “The Kiss of the Spiderwoman” for callbacks on Wednesday. Hopefully Ms. Beilke can help me run it a few times this afternoon before or after the Mad City Swing rehearsal. Woohoo! I’m so excited :)
