be closer to my brother

It’s just the age difference, long distance, and seperate lives thing that gets in the way. B/c I have no control over that at this point in my life I’m not going to let it get me down. I do feel that since Thanksgiving and Christmas we are closer. And I went home last Sunday too for a short visit and went to his basketball game and rough-boused and even laughed at a little fart humor. I feel that now he thinks about me more, I’m more of a part of his life. He wants to visit me. Before the holidays visiting me was not something he had any interest in. He’s 12 for all of you just wondering.

Yay! I get to see my brother, and everyone else of course. It’s really going to be a surprise for them. AWESOME!

I’m 24. Twice his age. I never really lived with him growing up – I lived with my grandparents. And then I was out of the house and out of the state before he can even really remember. He’s the youngest and the only boy in a family with three girls. I worry about him a little because of that… But he has always gotten the attention from my dad the girls always longed for. I don’t know how to create a strong relationship long-distance with a kid. I want to be there for me but he really doesn’t know me that well and vice versa. I expect us to be best of friends someday when he’s grown up but I really would like to start with him now. It’s hard.
