learn to paint

Not so happy with this one – anyhow you gotta keep on trying – my mum is so much better than me – maybe I should organize and mum and son painting jam.

Back from Venice this week and inspired to paint again.

There is something magical about the light and the water in Venice.

So hear goes…

I bought some watercolours from a shop yesterday – I am going to try and new medium – I’ll let you know how it goes :-)

Um.

In grey and miserable October – it is nice to think back to my holiday in Spain – first painting in a long time – I had forgotten how hard it was :-(

I went for a 5 day holiday here early in the year and loved it so much. Just finished reading a book on impressionism – can you tell :-)

A shamless rip off but I enjoyed painting it and it was my first painting on canvas which proved interesting…

I took a sketchbook on holiday with me and it turns out this is great way to pass time whilst hanging out at airports or on long and boring flights. I must be honest and say that I am still learning.

I have issues with capturing people – the face seems uniquely difficult to capture – this is probably down to humans extremely advanced pattern recognition abilities or possibly because I need a bit more pratice – any top tips?

I started a portrait of my friend realized that my pencil sketch made him look like an alien and gave up and painted another landscape. Maybe tomorrow – I will try again?
