Record an album

The album is done, the cds are burned (about a dozen for friends) It’s been put up online for download ( http://vsp.infinitejellyroll.com ) and all I have left to do is print out the covers.. this requires I figure out how to set up the printer.

Just finishing up the mix-down and remastering of the final version of the album.. after the ‘RPM Edition’. This past month of just mixing and mastering, with occasionally re-recording vocals has been the most annoying and tedious part of the process.

Well, I completed the RPM Challenge, with what I consider the “RPM edition” of ‘Liederkreis’. I plan on re-recording the vocals and mixing/mastering again and consider that the official release of sorts. It was a bit of fun, and I hope it’s an annual thing for years to come, cuz I’d love to try it out when I’m not longer going to school full time and working third shift 50 hours a week.

I’m scrambling to try to get this thing done with what little time I have left.. with working full time and going to school full time and a 3 year old running about the house, finally getting the vocals recorded is going to be a triumph, that’s for sure.
anyway, the music is done and ready to go except for 3 songs, one of which I am probably not going to do, cuz i’ll still have more than enough for the criteria.

I’m making some progress with the album, for the rpmchallenge.
I plan on doing 12, maybe 13 songs.. I’ve got the stuff planned out pretty much, just gotta get all the music written, polish lyrics, record vocals.. all that stuff and zippow! instant genius, of a sort.

I’m signed up for the rpmchallenge, and though I know time will be tight with going to work and school full time and being a parent.. i’m going to churn something out. It the very least, it will have the quality of ‘existence’. They’ve got some ugly urls for profile pages.. but here’s mine:

I’ve learned from the past that I do best if I plan out the album as a whole and work from there.. and so that’s what I’m doing. So far I’ve got it divided up into sections.. sorta like 4 acts, with 4 scenes each.. spread across 13 tracks. I’ve also got the time duration for each track laid out. From here, I’ll start layout the tempo of each track, as well as themes and the overall storylnie as it will progress. This is an electronic music album, so being so methodical isn’t such a bad thing.
