Heading up to the lake later today – hot weather is promised for the end of this week, and I hope it won’t be like Silvie’s retreating horizon.

  • pack up for cottage (remember to consult my list of things I don’t want to forget!!)
  • remember to eat wisely, if I’m to make progress on my weight goal!

Didn’t get a lot done yesterday – it was too hot. However, from the ashes of disaster grow the roses of success! So, on to today.

  • remember when eating to pause about 15 minutes before going for a second helping: I might be more full than I realize

There was a quote posted in the gym the other day – I don’t remember it exactly, but something like, Don’t let what you think you want now get in the way of what you know you want in the long run. I like this quote. I find it so easy to sabotage my own eating and exercise goals by giving in to what I “feel” at the moment. So easy to say, I’ll start again tomorrow.

What I really want is to have some sexy boudoir pictures taken of myself, before I get any older! I want to feel good about how I look, and have some photos of myself that don’t make me cringe. I taped the advertisement on the wall above my laptop, to remind myself of my long-term goal. I hope this will help me say no to temptations, and focus on my eating and exercise resolutions. I want to lose my 10lbs by September, be a little more toned, and feel good about going to the photographer in the fall.

  • return handweights. Did I tell this story already? I bought them, brought them home, and realized that they were broken and had been cleverly repackaged to be sold again to some unsuspecting customer. Argh.

Today we’re moving Mom from the “temporary” nursing home she’s been waiting at for 15 months, into a place that’s just 15 minutes away from our house.

  • Relax. Breathe. Be grateful for DH. Trust that things will unfold in the best possible way.

Back in the saddle again. Mouse and Bubs had some weird virus through last week, and the weekend was busy with numerous things, including visiting my mom.

Anyway, some news: DH has decided to leave the company he helped co-found last autumn. Partly because he is finding it difficult physically to be at a computer 8+ hrs a day, and doesn’t want to reawaken his computer strain injuries. Partly, he isn’t feeling passionate about what he’s doing; he says the other guys will be arguing over what path to pursue, and he finds himself thinking that he really just doesn’t care.

So, soon he’ll be working at home again. Happily, he’s able to part with his partners on good terms. And next, he and I will have to talk about where we’re going to go from here – what each of us wants to accomplish professionally, and how we can help each other, or whether there might even be some projects we can work on together. This may result in my overhauling my goals to suit.

Well, back to FTF:

  • eat mindfully
  • physio exercises
  • dinner plans??

Other:

  • take lunch to Bubs and Mouse at school
  • watch C’s gymastics performance tonight
  • buy more “New England Boil” cat food (cat’s favourite) before Charlie drives me crazy with his meowing.
