It may not last, but today is a perfect autumn day – warm, sunny and blue skies!

We have hung our skeleton on the front door, and put up Hallowe’en lights (a string of orange LED jack-o-lanterns) in the front window. The kids are getting excited about Hallowe’en, and we are planning to take them to a corn maze this weekend.

Next up will be making some Hallowe’en cookies and treats… got to figure out how to decorate them without artificial food colouring or refined sugar!!

  • coffee done
  • meeting with principal re school council issues done
  • help with hot lunch distribution at school done – and what a nightmare! Only 1 of the other 3 parents showed up to help (and she was a newbie), and the student volunteers didn’t show up either, AND the spreadsheets showing order tallies had several errors (which meant some kids weren’t getting lunches they were expecting)... It was a hair-tearing-out kind of experience
  • finish final edits to manuscript, as approved by the persnickety SL, and send off into publishing house oblivion.
  • piano lessons for kids
  • swimming lessons for kids
  • read The City of Ember, if I can wrestle it out of Q’s hands

Ah, the world is full of secrets… all of which will be revealed in their proper time…

Now, where’s that coffee pot? My mug appears to be empty. Gah, is it 10 o’clock already???

  • Lose temper with DH over trivial matter done
  • Delegate secret task done
  • Take Mouse to get her hair cut done, and she looks very cute!

  • Brood that dishwasher repairman didn’t come yesterday, and now won’t come until Tuesday done: brooded all the time I was washing up the dishes
  • Appraise work completed thus far on romance novel, and attempt to draw up a schedule for completing next draft of manuscript
