It may not last, but today is a perfect autumn day – warm, sunny and blue skies!
We have hung our skeleton on the front door, and put up Hallowe’en lights (a string of orange LED jack-o-lanterns) in the front window. The kids are getting excited about Hallowe’en, and we are planning to take them to a corn maze this weekend.
Next up will be making some Hallowe’en cookies and treats… got to figure out how to decorate them without artificial food colouring or refined sugar!!

- coffee done
- meeting with principal re school council issues done
- help with hot lunch distribution at school done – and what a nightmare! Only 1 of the other 3 parents showed up to help (and she was a newbie), and the student volunteers didn’t show up either, AND the spreadsheets showing order tallies had several errors (which meant some kids weren’t getting lunches they were expecting)... It was a hair-tearing-out kind of experience
- finish final edits to manuscript, as approved by the persnickety SL, and send off into publishing house oblivion.
- piano lessons for kids
- swimming lessons for kids
- read The City of Ember, if I can wrestle it out of Q’s hands
