I was discussing with a friend who went through a rough patch recently. She asked whether living in the present is not rationalizing the past mistakes.Whatever happened ,happened because there was a reason for it to happen?I do not agree.Living in the present does not mean justifying everything that has happened in the past but not to brood over and live in the past. However nothing prevents us from living in the present and learning from the past.

When i live in a state of worry as at present,I find myself brooding over what negativity might happen.present is stressful and future seems uncertain.I wonder what it means to remain in present in such a scenario?
I am finding that living consciously in present is very enriching and meaningful.I practiced it yesterday when i got a few phone calls.normally i would have decided to deal with the messages later, but i decided to deal with the matters in question there and then.Somehow i liked the whole experience.
Living in the present has relieved me of many worries. It has given me a feeling of living and not just hoping to live.It has allowed me to be productive as well as to increse my productive capacities. The more i live in the present ,the more i enjoy it.

I read a small but excellent book by Dr. Johnson Spencer, called The Present. It is a waste of time to live in the past.We should use past to learn from the past mistakes. We should live in the present and also use the present to plan for the future.
