On 12/31/07, I transferred a final sum into my account and I have a whooping $10,000. The amount is relative, to some it’s nothing to others it’s a lot. To me it’s a goal achieved and I’m happy to have committed to it and done it. As my sweetie, likes to say. Do the damn thing!

I probably should be at 80% but my mini vacation with my Mom, really hit me a little deeper in the pocket than I thought that it would. But, I’m prepared to hunker down. Hunker? I’ve been using that word a lot lately. When did I pick that word up. But, cold weather is coming and I hate the cold, I’ll leave the house less and do less and there fore spend less money. $10,000.00 here I come. I hope God continues to bless my efforts.
I’m over half way there! I will definitely make this goal by year end. And the surprising thing is, I haven’t had to sacrifice as much as I thought I would when I initially started this goal. In fact, I’ve been able to shop and plan a vacation. Having no credit card debt makes a huge difference. Even though I’m focusing on the positive and attaining this goal, I can’t help but think were I might be if I had just started earlier in life. Oh well, what’s done is done and what’s important is the future. What I’m doing now is more important.
I’m 41% into my savings goal. Next month I will be at the halfway mark. This goal is easier than paying off credit card debt. I’m committed.
I did okay this month. I didn’t make my target savings goal, but I was only short by 48%. I’ve been eating healthier and eating healthy is more expensive than eating junk. So, I’ve tweaked the budget for next month and increased my food budget, hopefully, I will be able to meet my February savings target.
My Grandmother gave me $800 for Christmas, this is going to be a big help and jump start to my savings goals. I can do this. I’ve never been able to save money before because I like to justify and make excuses and I lack serious impluse control. When I wanted something, I would buy it. Luckily, I didn’t want that much in the past and find somethings not worth the money. I’m trying to control my impulse buying, by staying out of the stores and and I’m setting monthly spending limits, so that I can achieve my goal of saving $10,000.
