Alot has happened since I last thought about this. I’m still ticking off mountains every now and then but my rate has slowed. I’m more into my rock climbing these days and most of the nearby mountains I have done.

Just about on target... for the time being.

Unfortunately I’ve injured my knee. There is no lasting damage the physiotherapist says but it means I probably won’t be making any progress in October and meant I was unable to do a planned walk in the Brecon Beacons in september. This means that I have only just reached the 120s and currently have 129 summits remaining.

Hopefully my knee will be better for the start of the winter season which I am looking forward to taking full advantage of.

Going well...

I’ve now climbed 22 of the mountains of Wales and I have a map showing the summits I have visited

This summer I am doing a sponsored walk for the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue that will see me visiting 8 of the 3000 foot mountains in wales in one walk. It’s 16 miles or so.

I’m also visiting Cadair Idris and revisiting Tryfan with friends in the near future. Tryfan is an excellent mountain but unfortunately the one that causes the most trouble for the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescuers.

Then in september I will be visiting 4 summits in the Brecon Beacons as part of the mountain trail challenge, which is a 30 mile walk in aid of the mountain rescue team in that area.

So I have completed 22 (13.3%) summits and have 143 remaining. Of which 7 are planned within the next 3 months. So hopefully I will be down to the 120s by the end of September.

Using a list based on Wilderness Wales’ list of metric mountains list I have created my own list where I hope to keep track of the mountains I have climbed.

I’m intending on keeping a record of my routes using Sanoodi:http://www.sanoodi.com/ which allows me to record and display maps based on data from my GPS device.

Only 158 to go! It’ll get easier as the days get longer, but harder as I have to travel further to the mountains.
