Perform random acts of kindness

I gave a catfish sandwich to a homeless man.

I gave away 3 free tickets to the Strawberry festival to complete strangers.

I had a sweet moment with a police officer at the car wash place today.

As I was leaving, I stopped & told him: “I just wanted to say thank you for choosing to work in law enforcement. I know it’s a dangerous job.. thank you for doing it.”

He shook my hand, smiled & said: “That makes me feel good.”

but I would like to do it more..

One random act that stands out in my memory: I worked at a nursing home when I was in high school & I became friends with one of the residents there. Her name was Miss Georgia. She had dementia (the happy-in-her-own-little-world kind). I don’t think she ever remembered my name, but she recognized my face & knew that we were friends. She was always making up little songs & she always seemed to talk about either chickens, dogs or ice cream. She was adorable. I loved her.

Anyway, on her birthday, I bought her a little gift (a little decorative chicken made out of wood), some ice cream & I paid for her to have a manicure & pedicure. It was fun.
