The biggest reason why I seem to struggle with doing 3 morning pages every morning: caffeine. I always wake up thinking: must make coffee stat. I drink my coffee & then move on to other things, like showering.
but, I did them this morning (due to having a really cool dream) & it was great. It’s nice to have some time (even if it’s just a few moments) completely devoted to that feeling after waking up: thinking about important things/dreams, getting the creative juices flowing, putting them down on paper so they don’t instantly evaporate, basking in that meditative-intuitive mode every morning..

here,here,and here.
“The morning pages are three pages of stream-of-consciousness longhand morning writing. You should think of them not as “art” but as an active form of meditation for Westerners. In the morning pages we declare to the world — and ourselves — what we like, what we dislike, what we wish, what we hope, what we regret, and what we plan.”

I love doing this. It’s very helpful, but I’m still struggling to do it as soon as I wake up. Sometimes it’s more like afternoon-pages.

Journaling is not one of my main priorites when I wake up in the morning. Sigh.
I need to make a commitment to doing this..
