When I was a child, our neighborhood was full of the big old-fashioned lilac bushes. For about two weeks every spring, the smell was everywhere. After our two daughters were born, we decided to plant a tree/bush for each of them. My oldest had a weeping cherry tree and my youngest a white, old-fashioned lilac. The lilac is about 15ft tall now (12 years later). This pic was taken this morning. Gotta love em.

When I was 13 years old, if I had tried to wear blood red fingernail polish to school, my mother would have thrown a fit. Now that I’m a parent? Not only do I not bat an eye when my kid wants to wear red, I actually pick it up for her at the store. lol My kid is an Emo kid. Black is the ONLY color. Black shirts, pants, shoes and nail polish. I’ve talked her out of doing anything to the hair (so far). So, a request for red? You mean actual color? No problem! ...of course, as I’m typing this I’m realizing that Emo’s seem to be into blood too. (sigh)
Not much time today to take and post a pic, so I went with the tried and true pet shot. This is Squeak, one of three kittens we found one year ago today. My husband was cleaning up the yard after a storm and accidentally stepped on this guy. He squeaked, and thus he was named. My house will never be the same. I grew up with cats, but never realized they could be so destructive. I thought DOGS were the ones who would steal your slippers, but no, I apparently have dog wanna-be’s. Right now I’m wearing two unmatching slippers because their mates have disappeared. I caught one of the cats dragging my daughters big bulky robe towards the basement door the other day. That’s probably where the dang slippers are.
I thought taking pics would be pretty easy when I first added it to my list… and was surprised how difficult it was for me. My pics put ME to sleep! It was a little depressing to realize just how little talent I have when it comes to photography. I’ve decided to do it anyway… even if I’m the only one who ever looks at them.
We have three cats. Count em, THREE… and I’ve just found out I’m allergic to them. I kept hoping it was dust or something else. lol ah well. No way we’ll give them up, so I’ll deal.
These are two of my parakeets, Buddy and Crystal. I’m no photographer, and some days it’s not easy to find something to snap a pic of.
I know, I know. You’re wondering “What in the world is she doing putting up a picture of some drawers?” But they aren’t just any drawers! No! They are kitchen drawers! MY kitchen drawers! And they even have handles! lol I’ve been remodeling my kitchen and finally have actual drawers that have actual handles on them. Ah, the simple joys in life. :D
This was once my diningroom table. For the next day or two it’s going to be the stopover for all the xmas misc I’m getting ready to put away. The sad thing is, this is not even all the ornaments off the tree. lol
